Oxford and Cherwell Valley student Tracy Witcomb has been selected by her tutors as the worthy winner of a laptop computer, generously provided by Hayden Marsh Recruitment. This was part of a collaboration designed to encourage students undertaking widely valued accountancy qualifications.
The Fast Track study option at OCVC meant that Tracy could complete the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in just one year. Tracy was chosen as a worthy winner because “She demonstrated not just real dedication to the task but the determination to improve at each stage” explained course leader Elizabeth Shand.
And as Zoe Ellis from Hayden Marsh added “When we identified that students undertaking AAT exams are generally driven by the prospect of career improvement, we felt that sharing our expertise about the actual process of recruitment with them would be useful. The addition of a tangible incentive couldn’t hurt either!”
Armed with her laptop, Tracy is continuing to juggle the demands of her three year old daughter with two nights study a week at OCVC, to add an NVQ Level 4 to her achievements and has two job interviews coming up. So if you’re reading this and thinking “can I really fit that kind of studying into my already busy life?” then the answer is a resounding “yes, you can”!
